Many online tutorials exist to assist teachers in using Google Docs. LAUSD has a Google Apps in Education program that is accessible with a student mymail email account. I am an email administrator and will create those accounts for your students. The completion of the annual Acceptable Use Permission form is the first necessary requirement. Google Apps include Google Sites, Google Drive (create documents, spreadsheets, presentations and more). The Google Apps also includes access to templates including business forms such as resumes. The account will auto save, accessible anywhere and anytime, and includes the revisions to student work which makes collaboration sharing a must.
